Our group wish to tackle the challenge of designing and shaping functionalized porous materials across multiple scales from the level of molecules to millimeter- and centimeter-sized systems. We will develop new research directions to structure porous materials at the mesocscopic and macroscopic scale and thereby enhance material performance beyond that attainable with bulk powders. This will involve creating new chemistry to align molecular and nanoparticle building blocks into ordered superstructures and ultimately to control their size, shape and hierarchy.
